Meet new people. Use good judgement. Look out for each other.
Belova is built around meeting people through shared activities. Most plans are simple everyday things, but meeting someone new always involves a level of trust. We’ve built tools to help you stay in control and make informed decisions.
What does Belova Verified mean?
Members who want to create new plans must complete Belova’s host verification process. This involves providing a photo ID and a live selfie for review.
Once approved, they can display the Belova Verified badge.
Verification confirms identity only. It does not guarantee someone’s behaviour or mean Belova personally endorses them.
Identity documents and selfies used for verification are deleted after the verification decision is made. Belova keeps the verification status needed to operate the feature.
Meeting up safely
Meet somewhere public
For a first meeting, choose a public place where other people are around where possible.
Tell someone where you’re going
Let a friend or family member know your plans, especially when meeting someone new.
Use the plan chat
Keep arrangements in the Belova plan chat where possible so everyone has the same information.
Trust your judgement
You never have to attend or stay at a plan if something doesn’t feel right.
Plan your way home
Know how you’re getting home and avoid relying entirely on somebody you have just met.
If something doesn’t feel right
Belova includes tools to report and block other members. If someone behaves inappropriately, makes you uncomfortable or breaks the community rules, you can report them through the app.
Blocking someone restricts their ability to interact with you through Belova.
Report a safety concern
You can also contact us through the Feedback page and choose “Safety concern”.
In an emergency
Belova is not an emergency service. If you or somebody else is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services.
Call 999 or 112 in an emergency.
Help keep Belova welcoming
Belova works best when everyone treats each other with respect. Respect people’s boundaries, communicate clearly and remember that joining a plan never creates an obligation to socialise beyond that plan.
Harassment, threatening behaviour, discrimination, sexual harassment or deliberately making others feel unsafe is not acceptable on Belova.
Read our Community Guidelines →See something that concerns you? Tell us.
Reporting concerns helps us keep Belova safer for everyone.
