Keep Belova friendly, respectful and real.
Belova is about meeting people through shared activities. These guidelines exist to help everyone feel comfortable joining a plan, meeting someone new and being part of the community.
Be decent. Respect boundaries. Look out for each other.
Guideline 1
Treat people with respect
Everyone should be able to use Belova without being harassed, intimidated or deliberately made uncomfortable.
Do not allow:
- bullying or harassment
- threatening or abusive behaviour
- discrimination or hateful behaviour
- deliberately humiliating or targeting another member
Keep disagreements respectful and move on when somebody asks you to.
Guideline 2
Respect boundaries
Joining a plan is an agreement to take part in that activity — nothing more.
Members should respect personal boundaries and understand that:
- nobody owes another member friendship, contact or attention outside the plan
- unwanted sexual comments or advances are not acceptable
- repeated unwanted messages or contact are not acceptable
- if someone asks you to stop, give them space
Belova is not a dating app.
Guideline 3
Keep profiles and conversations appropriate
Profiles, bios, photos, plan descriptions and chats should be suitable for a community activity platform.
Do not post:
- explicit sexual content
- threatening or abusive content
- discriminatory content
- deliberately offensive usernames or profile information
- content intended to intimidate or upset another member
Guideline 4
Create genuine plans
Plans should be genuine activities that you actually intend to attend or organise.
Do not use Belova to:
- create fake or misleading plans
- repeatedly cancel plans without good reason
- impersonate another person or organisation
- deliberately misrepresent what an activity involves
- lure members somewhere under false pretences
If plans change, communicate clearly with everyone involved.
Guideline 5
Keep it safe and legal
Do not use Belova to organise or promote illegal, dangerous or deliberately harmful activity.
- Members are responsible for using their own judgement when joining activities.
- For first meetings, follow the advice on our Safety page.
Guideline 6
No spam or unwanted promotion
Belova is for bringing people together through activities, not mass advertising.
Do not:
- spam members
- repeatedly promote unrelated businesses or services
- use chats for unsolicited sales messages
- send repetitive or misleading promotional content
Genuine local activities and appropriate partnerships can still exist where they fit naturally within Belova.
Guideline 7
See something that isn’t right?
If another member makes you uncomfortable, behaves inappropriately or breaks these guidelines, use Belova’s report or block tools.
You can also contact Belova through the website Feedback page and select “Safety concern”.
What happens if someone breaks the guidelines?
Belova may review reported behaviour and take action where appropriate. Depending on the circumstances, this may include removing content, restricting features, suspending an account or removing someone from Belova.
Serious concerns may require further action where appropriate.
Belova works because people show up with good intentions.
Be kind, communicate clearly and help make it easier for someone else to say yes to doing something.
